  1. Give Yourself a Break
The holiday season is a busy time. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, give yourself a break and do something for yourself!
  • Sit back with a mug of your favorite tea and a book that you’ve been meaning to get into. Here’s Dr. Helene’s favorite site for book ideas: Bookbub
  • Listen to a relaxing guided meditation, check out Mindful.org for free meditations
  • Do little holiday self-pampering. Check out Dr. Helene’s DIY Holiday Anti-Aging Cocoa Face Masque
  • Delegate! It’s easy to feel overwhelmed with so much on your plate. Ask your spouse, partner or a friend for help planning, gift wrapping and cooking. It will help lower your stress levels so you can enjoy your holidays and help time for your own selfcare.
  1. Avoid Holiday Tummy Aches!
We all love delicious Holiday foods and the warm feelings that come from sitting down to a holiday meal with friends, family and loved ones. But if you are one of the many people who suffers from food sensitivities, the holiday season may not be so great.
Gluten and dairy sensitivities are more common than you would think. When I was growing up, out holiday meals lasted for hours, with several courses for the main meal, then the desserts came out. Of course, I had a healthy serving of everything, but my digestive tract was not happy for days afterward. Many years later, I was tested for Food Sensitivities, and wheat, gluten and dairy were at the top of the list.
