Happy November! I’d like to share my favorite DIY exfoliating & brightening, gentle Lavender Face Scrub with you.
I came up with this recipe when my daughter, who was in college at the time, started having breakouts combined with dry and sensitive skin. Since then, it’s been a go-to for post-summer exfoliation and it has a nice brightening effect for the holidays.
About this face scrub:
The oatmeal is very easy on sensitive skin and acts as a gentle exfoliant, the powdered milk has natural enzymes to tighten the skin, the dried lavender flowers have natural antimicrobial and antioxidant properties, and the coconut oil has anti-inflammatory properties that can benefit those with sensitive skin and skin issues such as eczema.
Ingredients:
NOTE: Do Not use any ingredients that you may be allergic to or sensitive to.
1 cup rolled oats
1/3 cup organic dry powdered goat milk (or cow’s milk)
1 tablespoon dried lavender flowers
1 teaspoon virgin coconut oil
Directions:
Blend all ingredients in a food processor or blender until finely ground.
Add a few drops of water to make it into a paste.
Apply the paste to dampened face and let it dry.
Wash off with warm water, followed by your favorite moisturizer.
Enjoy!
