  7. Too Busy To Cook:...

Are you a busy parent or a professional person juggling a hectic schedule?

Do you often find yourself too exhausted to cook after a long day at work or taking care of your family’s needs?

You’re not alone!

Many folks face the challenge of wanting to enjoy home-cooked meals but struggling to find the time and energy to prepare them. I know what it’s like to get home after a busy day at work and having to figure out what to feed your hungry kids and family.

In this article, we’ll explore some practical solutions to help you overcome the “too busy to cook” dilemma, and I’ll share my secrets to help you become a “One-Pot Wonder Mom or Dad” as well!

1. Embrace Meal Planning

Meal planning is your secret weapon against the chaos of weeknight dinners. Spend a few minutes each week planning your meals, creating shopping lists, and even prepping some ingredients in advance. This simple strategy will save you time, reduce stress, and ensure that you have the right ingredients on hand when you need them.

2. Explore One-Pot Wonders

One-pot meals are a busy person’s dream come true. With recipes like stir-fries, casseroles, and sheet pan dinners, you can create delicious, well-balanced meals with minimal cleanup. Plus, they often require fewer ingredients and less cooking time, making them perfect for your busy lifestyle. As a busy working mom with a family to feed, there is nothing more life-saving for me  than being able to pull a home made meal out of the freezer and serve it to my family on week nights. I don’t know what I’d do without my trusty Instant Pot!

Here’s my secret: I plan for 1 or 2 weekend days per month to be devoted to power cooking meals for the upcoming weeks.
Having a a menu list, shopping list and a few free hours makes it possible for me to cook healthy meals in bulk, and freeze them for those busy nights when I didn’t have time to cook.

3. Utilize Kitchen Gadgets

Investing in kitchen gadgets like an Instant Pot, slow cookers, pressure cookers, and food processors can be a game-changer. These appliances can do much of the work for you, allowing you to focus on other tasks while your meal simmers or cooks. Imagine coming home to a hot, ready-to-eat meal without the fuss!

Additionally, embracing meal planning not only saves you time but also ensures that you have a well-thought-out menu for the week. By one-pot wonders, I mean recipes that can be prepared using a single cooking vessel, such as a skillet or a baking sheet or Instant Pot, etc.. These dishes are not only convenient but also reduce the number of dishes you need to wash afterward. Kitchen gadgets, like slow cookers and food processors, can be a tremendous help when time is of the essence. They are designed to make your cooking process more efficient.
